Japacks Quality Control
We sincerely listen to the voices of each and every stakeholder, including our customers, and work to improve the quality of our products every day. We are engaged in a wide range of activities, including assuring product safety, verifying compliance with laws and regulations, examining and implementing measures to prevent the occurrence of non-conforming or defective products, and managing the production of products that contain special raw materials such as biomass and recycled materials.
In particular, our collaboration with 40 partner factories contributes greatly to supporting the quality of our products. By understanding the production status and management system of each factory in detail, we are able to respond appropriately. Furthermore, by using the lot number assigned to the product and the inspection records at each production process, we have established traceability of production information consistent with the process from raw material mixing → film production → bag processing → packaging → inventory → shipping, which helps to strengthen risk management and improve product safety.
The quality control standards that we comply with are based on the JIS standards, but for standards that are not included in the JIS standards, we set our own management standards based on the data we have accumulated to date.Based on these management standards, we actively carry out production management and technical guidance, and through regular factory audits and meetings with factory managers, we work to improve quality on a daily basis by checking the production status and management system. In addition, we will be opening a new office in our head office building in 2022. We constantly check the quality of everything from prototype samples to full-scale production in the laboratory, and if necessary, we review the production process, including the raw material composition, in order to continuously maintain and improve quality.

JapacksLab
At JAPACKS lab, we use various testing machines to measure the physical properties of films that cannot be determined by appearance alone, and check the performance of films on a daily basis. The measurement results are useful in various ways, such as quality assurance, analysis of defective products, and development of new products.
Tensile tester
The load-bearing capacity and elongation of the film before it breaks when pulledThis is a measuring test machine. This is a general test for film packaging, and is performed to check whether it meets JIS standards or specified criteria. It is also possible to measure the bottom seal strength of bags and the meshing strength of the zipper part of zippered plastic bags, and it is a versatile testing machine that can perform various other tests by changing the jig.

Thermo-hygrostat
This is an experimental device that can maintain a set temperature and humidity for a certain period of time. It can be set to a temperature between -20℃ and +150℃ and is used for heat resistance testing of products. Some plastic films are sensitive to heat, and depending on the ocean transportation and storage environment, the inside of the plastic bag may stick together, or the film may harden while still in the outer bag. Testing whether the quality is stable even in a high-temperature environment using a prototype sample is effective in preventing the occurrence of defective products.

Dirt impact tester
This is a testing machine to evaluate the impact resistance of films. Plastic films can be torn by a momentary strong impact. A hemispherical weight is dropped onto the film from a specified height, and the degree of damage to the film is observed to confirm whether it can withstand the specified impact strength.

Elmendorf tear tester
This is a testing machine that measures the strength of a film when it is torn. A load is applied locally to the film, and the amount of force required to tear the film is quantified.
